Ballroom Dancing Is Popular But Why Can’t You Find Venues That Will Play That Music Besides Ballroom Schools?

At least in my area there are no clubs or places to dance to ballroom or similar music, except for salsa, yet there are 4 major balloorm schools and a few individual instructors of that and they mostly hold there own dances once a week at their schools. I’m trying to find a place to DJ that kind of music to fill that niche since I love that music even though I don’t really dance it formally.

We’ve all seen the old movies with dinner and dancing with the big bands. But if you’re spending $300 a square foot for floor space, you’d best fill it with people drinking, where the real profits lie. The floor space required for ballroom is pretty high, and dancers don’t drink as much as other patrons in the club. It’s a niche market. But I’m with you. Niche markets can turn a profit, and here’s one I think is probably under-exploited.
